It goes without saying that without good vision, it is very hard to enjoy reading this blog or a book. Thankfully, for those who are unable to read due to disabilities like blindness, or for other reasons, there are audio books.
But for those of us who have our eyesight, and are past 40 or have a condition that requires eyeglasses, there is an inexpensive solution. Recently my husband had his vision checked and had his eyes measured for glasses by his optometrist. He decided to save money by purchasing glasses at zennioptical.com because I told him that I had visited the website and liked what I saw. His glasses, which are bifocals with the line, the frameless style, look great and are perfect for reading both his computer screen, and his books, magazines and newspapers.
The best part is that what could have cost him between $100 – $200 from past experience, only cost him a little over $5O total, for lenses and frames. The lowest price I’ve seen at the site is about $8.00. This is because all the manufacturing is done in-house, there are no middle-men, a low advertising budget, all that translates into great savings for us.
So if it’s possible to do something about it, don’t let poor eyesight keep you from enjoying the pleasure of reading. In fact, this is a link to part of a book called “Living Rich by Spending Smart” in which this eyeglass company is mentioned.
While you’re there, please take some time enjoy Google Booksearch, it’s a great tool for those who love to read, you can read part, or all of an incredible number of titles thanks to agreements they have with many online book partners.

Claudia,
This is such a relevant post because many authors don’t take font size into consideration when publishing their books. I purchased a book where the font was so small I just didn’t bother to read it.
Great tip. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your comments, Beverly and Karen.
I am with you, Beverly, if I am in a bookstore, and pick up a book that has a small font, I move right on. It may be something to do with these “Baby Boomer” eyes:-) Even with glasses, small text just isn’t good for the eyes.
God bless, and thanks for stopping by!
