Historical Document About Gold and Gold Today

Filed under: articles — admin @ 10:02 pm

Gold is all over the news these days because of it’s dramatic increase in value.  We are encouraged either to sell our gold because it is so valuable now, or to buy gold as an investment in the future.

Can you imagine being asked to turn over your gold, and receive nothing in return?  Being told not to hoard gold?  There was such a time.  I was visiting one of those buy gold online sites, and looked around a bit…if you go to the very last item in the right margin, with a picture of FDR on it, then click through, you’ll find a copy Roosevelts Executive order dated April of 1933 demanding that gold coin, bullion and certificates be turned in to a Federal Reserve bank.  There were exceptions and limitations, but still, it must have been hard to give up something that you owned that was of value. It’s an interesting read, as is the history behind it. As drastic as the measure may seem, it did eventually have a stabilizing affect on the economy. The article is in pdf format, and while your at the site, you’ll find a number of other features that might interest you.

Thoughts About Publishing Companies

Filed under: How to Sell, Other Book Sites, Publishing Companies, articles — admin @ 12:45 pm

I came across an article written by a gentleman who seems to have an understanding of publishing companies, what they offer and how they operate. I am sharing one of his articles with you, and leaving his links in the article as requested so that you can look into help he may have to offer.

More About Publishing and Publishing Companies

By: David H.

Publishing is a process of distributing and producing books or forms of literature. There are numerous varieties of publishing such as self publishing, vanity publishing and so much more.

Publishing is a process of producing and distributing forms of literature or books. Publishing includes the stages of the acquisition, development, graphic design, copy and editing, and printing. It also involves marketing, production and distribution of magazines, book, newspapers as well as software, musical works, literary works and other works associated with information. With the arrival of internet and some digital information systems, the scope of publishing is expanded to electronic resources like the electronic versions of periodicals and books as well as video games, blogs and websites.

Technically, television, radio, cinemas, DVDs, VCDs, games, music systems, mobile telephony and computer hardware publish some information to their consumers. Indeed, the advertising of a major film regularly includes a comic version or graphic novel, novelization, a model toy, a game, the soundtrack album and never ending promotional publications.

Numerous companies of major publishers have full divisions dedicated to a single franchise. This would include the likes of Ballantine Del Ray Lucasbooks which has the rights to Star Wars in the US, the Random House in UK and Century Lucasbooks that has the same rights in the UK. BBC also owns publishing divisions that perform very well with a long series like Doctor Who.

It is the publisher that commonly controls the marketing and other advertising tasks but it can subcontract various features of the process in order to expert publisher marketing agencies. In several companies, layout designs, proofreading, editing and other features of production processes are made by freelancers.

Dedicated in home salespeople are rarely replaced by some companies that concentrate in sales up to chain stores, wholesalers and bookshops for a fee. This style is accelerating as supermarkets and book chains have centralized their selling techniques.

Vanity publishing is referred to as one that constricts with authors, despite the marketability and quality of their work. Vanity presses also call themselves subsidy or joint venture presses. However, in these vanity press agreements, the author undertakes all the risks and pays all the costs of publication.

There are lots of publishing companies that can be found around the world. One example is the Whitston Publishing Company. Whitston focuses on publishing fiction, non-fiction, classic re issues, reference materials and anthology works. The company publishes the best quality products for researchers, scholars, students, libraries and individuals who have interest in the subject areas covered.

This company currently has subject areas that cover several literatures like African American, African, American, Children’s and Contemporary Friction, French and English Literature, Irish Literature, Native American Studies and so much more. The Whistons Publishing company is located in Albany, New York.

John Benjamins Publishing Company is an academic publisher’s headquarters in Amsterdam. The company developed two online Bibliography sites such as the electronic Translation Studies Bibliography and the electronic Bibliography of Pragmatics. This publishing company appears in several international academic areas and trade fair conferences as well as worldwide networks of appointed agents and distributors. John Benjamins Publishing Company also has headquarters in Philadelphia.

Code Publishing Company is a full service and innovative publishing company. The company uses the current technology that provides high quality print publication along with an electronic version of all papers published. This company provides legal and technical editing services as well as data alteration to some organizations. It also provides all of the binding, storage, printing and delivery services. This is for the supplements and codes. The company can provide Internet hosting of public codes; plus, other documents and hosts that create small public websites.

Writing Articles to Promote Your Book

Filed under: Business Aids, How to Sell, articles — admin @ 11:26 am

Whether it is a book, eBook, product, or service, article writing has become a popular way to promote what you have to offer.  There are many article marketing sites, and each allows you to post your article with links back to your website or with contact information so that people can reach you if they are interested in knowing more.

There are a couple of ways that you can distribute your articles….you can use an article submission service and pay a fee, or you can make a folder in your bookmarks and bookmark your favorite article marketing sites and list them yourself for free…at least the ones that I have seen are free.

If you would like to add my free article submission site to your list, it is http://sellingwitharticles.com, and following is a list of articles from the site that will help you in writing your articles:

These are just a few examples, if you go to “Selling with Articles” and put “Articles” in the upper right search box, and pick “Article Title” in the drop-down menu to the left of the search box, you’ll find many more helpful articles.

Self Publishing at No Cost?

I am not sure whether one can truly publish a book entirely at no cost, but this article provided by “Selling With Articles” will give you some tips that may set you in the right direction. I hope you enjoy!

How to Self Publish a Book For Free

By: Ruth Barringham

The internet and modern technology have made it very easy for anyone to self publish a book. But like everything else, to do something well and to do it profitably, it takes money. However, you can now self publish as many books as you want to – for free!

It’s every writer’s dream to be a published author; to sit and write books and have them published and selling all over the world.

How great would it be to be able to write as many books as you want to and know that they will all be published?

Can you imagine that?

If you could write and publish books for a living you could work from anywhere in the world. You could sit by a swimming pool and write, or sit on a warm tropical beach or hide away in a snowy log cabin while you churn out one great book after another, knowing that every single one of them will be published.

How fantastic would that life be?

Well you can now stop dreaming and make your life as a successful author a reality. And if you think you can’t afford to publish all your own books, you’re wrong. Because it’s now possible to write and publish all your books for free.

So if you’ve written a book, edited and proof read your manuscript, then it’s time to turn it into a published book. And there are several different ways that you can go about it.

The easiest way is to sell your book electronically (an eBook) as an instant download over the internet.

If you already have a web site you can sell your book from there by creating a sales page and a ‘thank you’ page that includes the download instructions. You can then set up the payment process using an online payment company such as PayPal.

PayPal allows you to set up an account with them for free. Through this account you can set up a ‘buy now’ payment link that you can simply copy and paste onto your sales page.

Once a customer has made a purchase they are then directed to your ‘thank you’ page where they can download your book.

If you don’t have a web site, you can sign up for a free blog and sell your book from there the same way.

Or if you’re really not that savvy at creating web pages, you don’t have to have a web site or blog at all to sell your book.

You can use an online eBook company called MobiPocket who will supply you with free software so that you can upload your book file to their web site.

You can then set your own price and book description, etc, and MobiPocket will sell your eBook for you and take a percentage of each sale.

MobiPocket is owned by Amazon.com and so if you sign a publisher’s agreement with MobiPocket, your book will also be available as an instant download through the Amazon stores too, as well as through over 100 other online eBook stores.

And if you want your book to be available in print form too, you can use LuLu.com.

LuLu.com is a free online POD publisher who will sell a printed copy of your book On Demand from their web site, as well as help you design a free book cover. All they ask in return is a percentage of every book sale.

So if you want to publish your book for free, try these simple ways and you can publish your book easily in only one afternoon and have it available as an eBook and printed book.

And then it’s time to begin writing your next book, and the next, and the next…
