Teachers, Looking for a Reading Intervention Resource?

Filed under: Literacy, Reading Aids — admin @ 4:18 pm

Let’s face it, unless you can read, this blog and all the information about writing and books is useless to you.

Some cannot help the fact that they can’t read, others can for various reasons.  Perhaps they didn’t apply themselves at some point in their education, and now wish they had, and think it’s too late.

If you are a teacher, or want to help someone who is struggling with reading, the program provided at this Reading Intervention link has the resources that you are looking for. There are programs for all ages and levels of need.

I can’t imagine having the ability to read, but not having the knowledge to do so, lets make learning how to read as pleasant an experience as possible!

Don’t Read Book Reviews, Listen To Them

While this site is a resource with help for authors and writers, as well as reviews, The Authors Show is a place to listen to, or watch book reviews…they also have a newsletter that will help you if you are interested in information about publishing a book.

I am listening to a review right now as I type this…I don’t necessarily agree with what the author is presenting in his book, and it may be an entirely different book when you visit the site, by the way…but it is interesting to be able to hear the voice of the authors as they explain their books, and more.  I haven’t watched a review yet, but it can be done from this site.

You can also complete a form at the site if you would like to be interviewed.

Books and Online Home Plans

Filed under: All Soft/Hard Cover Titles, Home Building Books, Manuals — admin @ 4:11 pm

Many are busy trying to purchase their first home before the Home Buyer’s Tax Credit expires…it was due to expire this month, but it looks like it will be extended, and there will be a credit as well for those who are moving from one home to another.

This is one way to save money in our challenging economy. But what about those who want to build new homes? Especially if you are fortunate enough to be able to afford a luxury home and are looking for luxury home plans. I was browsing a site today, and thought it fit here, because not only do they offer a nice selection of books for the person considering building a home, or having a home built, but they also have a great selection of luxury house plans that you can purchase online and print.

If you are interested in viewing home plans, or books about home plans, visit any of the live links on this site. The site is extremely well organized and easy to use. You can plan and dream and plan some more…the list of archetectural styles is extensive, as well as other home projects.

The books available are outstanding, here is a list of some titles for you:

  • 750 Inviting Home Plans
  • Best-Selling Home Plans
  • Build Your Own Deck Manual
  • Build Your Own Garage Manual
  • Casual Country Home Plans

This is just a small taste of the many books offered by this company with 25 years of experience in the business.
